On a Markov Game with Incomplete Information

چکیده
We consider an example of a Markov game with lack of information on one side, that was first introduced by Renault (2002). We compute both the value and optimal strategies for a range of parameter values. ∗MEDS Department, Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and Département Finance et Economie, HEC, 1, rue de la Libération, 78 351 Jouy-en-Josas, France. e-mail: [email protected] †Laboratoire d’Analyse Géométrie et Applications, Institut Galilée, Université Paris Nord, avenue Jean-Baptiste Clément, 93430 Villetaneuse, France; and laboratoire d’Econométrie de l’Ecole Polytechnique, 1, rue Descartes 75005 Paris, France . e-mail: [email protected] ‡MEDS Department, Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and the School of Mathematical Sciences, Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv 69978, Israel. e-mail: [email protected] §Département Finance et Economie, HEC, 1, rue de la Libération, 78 351 Jouy-enJosas, France. e-mail: [email protected] ¶The research of the third author was supported by the Israel Science Foundation (grant No. 69/01-1).

Optimal (R, Q) policy and pricing for two-echelon supply chain with lead time and retailer’s service-level incomplete information
Many studies focus on inventory systems to analyze different real-world situations. This paper considers a two-echelon supply chain that includes one warehouse and one retailer with stochastic demand and an up-to-level policy. The retailer’s lead time includes the transportation time from the warehouse to the retailer that is unknown to the retailer. On the other hand, the warehouse is unaware ...
متن کاملON A MARKOV GAME WITH ONE-SIDED INCOMPLETE INFORMATION By
We apply the average cost optimality equation to zero-sum Markov games, by considering a simple game with one-sided incomplete information that generalizes an example of Aumann and Maschler (1995). We determine the value and identify the optimal strategies for a range of parameters.
متن کاملExistence of optimal strategies in Markov games with incomplete information
The existence of a value and optimal strategies is proved for the class of twoperson repeated games where the state follows a Markov chain independently of players’ actions and at the beginning of each stage only player one is informed about the state. The results apply to the case of standard signaling where players’ stage actions are observable, as well as to the model with general signals pr...
متن کاملMarkov Games of Incomplete Information for Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning
Partially observable stochastic games (POSGs) are an attractive model for many multi-agent domains, but are computationally extremely difficult to solve. We present a new model, Markov games of incomplete information (MGII) which imposes a mild restriction on POSGs while overcoming their primary computational bottleneck. Finally we show how to convert a MGII into a continuous but bounded fully ...
متن کاملMarkov Games with Frequent Actions and Incomplete Information - The Limit Case
We study a two-player, zero-sum, stochastic game with incomplete information on one side in which the players are allowed to play more and more frequently. The informed player observes the realization of a Markov chain on which the payoffs depend, while the non-informed player only observes his opponent’s actions. We show the existence of a limit value as the time span between two consecutive s...
